WPD investigating homicide that left one dead

WESTMINSTER, Colo [UPDATE 11AM] – Westminster Police are asking for the public’s help in locating last night’s homicide suspect.

Preliminary information indicates a man carrying a gun ran northwest after the shooting occurred at a home in the 14700 block of Orchard Pkwy. Officers responded and located a deceased male with a gunshot wound inside the doorway of the residence. Witnesses described the suspect as an adult male wearing all black with a slender build.

WPD wants to reassure the community that this appears to be an isolated incident and there is currently no immediate threat to the community. The victim’s identity will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

Police are asking residents living near 148th Ave and Huron St for any surveillance video captured around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night that may assist in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Westminster Police Department at 303-658-4360.

It should be noted all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WESTMINSTER, Colo – The Westminster Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday night in the 14700 block of Orchard Pkwy.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on December 18, officers with the Westminster Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 14700 block of Orchard Pkwy. Once on scene, officers located a deceased male with a gunshot wound inside the doorway of the residence.

Preliminary information indicates a male suspect left on foot after shooting the victim. Officers established a perimeter and a K9 responded on scene to assist in the search. At this time, the suspect has not been located.

This is an ongoing investigation and officers are working to develop a suspect description. This appears to be an isolated incident and at this time, there is no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the community. More information will be released when available.
