Last night around 11:00pm, the suspect Gilberth Alexis Gomez Arias - 22 years old, turned himself into Pueblo County Sheriff’s Department.
Mr. Gomez Arias will be held on the following charges:
1st Degree Murder
Felony Menacing

Shooting Case #2023-21817
Today around 9:50am, Westminster Police responded to a disturbance and shooting that occurred in the area of the 9800 block of Westcliff Parkway.
The original caller told dispatch two adult males were fighting and then stated one of males had shot the other male.
The adult male victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The male suspect fled in a vehicle after the shooting. The vehicle was located near the area of 64th Avenue and Estes Street in Arvada. With the help of the Arvada Police Department an apartment in the 6200 block of Estes Street was secured. After obtaining a search warrant for the location, the suspect was not found in the apartment.
Westminster Detectives continue to search for the suspect. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
The identity of the deceased male will be released by Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The arrest and filing of a criminal charge are merely a formal accusation that an individual committed a crime. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
