On 7/25/2024 at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at a house in the 3200 block of W 81st Ave. When police arrived, they discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. Officers immediately began rendering aid until medics arrived. The male was transported to a local hospital by Westminster Fire and Rescue personnel where he was later pronounced deceased.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Adam’s County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin.
All parties involved remained on scene and were cooperative with police. Fernando Arturo Gomez-Cordero, 21, was taken into custody on the charge of 18-3-104 Manslaughter.
It should be noted that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
