WESTMINSTER, Colo, -- While on patrol last week just after 1:30 a.m., WPD officers spotted a vehicle with stolen plates in a parking lot near 8701 Turnpike Dr.

Inside the car, they found two men who appeared to be sleeping with drug paraphernalia visible. When officers made contact, both men woke up. Turns out both individuals had multiple warrants, and one—who was a convicted felon—was in possession of a firearm.

Officers also recovered additional stolen license plates and drugs from the car. Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Adams County Jail. Excellent work by our graveyard shift!

It should be noted all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Officers located methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
