WPD pursues suspect wanted on felony warrants

WESTMINSTER, Colo [UPDATE 11AM] The suspect, identified as Joseph Wrege, 45, has been released from the hospital and was transported to the Adams County Jail on the following charges:

16-19-103 Warrant Arrest - FOJ (Other Agency) – Misdemeanor (controlled substance possession)
16-19-103 Warrant Arrest - FOJ (Other Agency) – Felony (menacing with a deadly weapon)
16-19-103 Warrant Arrest - FOJ (Other Agency) – Misdemeanor (resisting arrest)
16-19-103 Warrant Arrest - FOJ (Other Agency) – Felony (failure to register as a sex offender)

The other occupant in the vehicle struck by the suspect vehicle has also been released from the hospital. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time.

WESTMINSTER, Colo [UPDATE] — The suspect vehicle crashed into a three-occupant vehicle. The suspect and one occupant from the vehicle hit were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

WESTMINSTER, Colo — On March 26, around 10:15 p.m., WPD officers responded to reports of a disturbance at the Comfort Suites located near 120th Ave and Delaware St involving a man who was wanted for several felony warrants.

When officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he tried to run over the officers and rammed into a patrol vehicle before fleeing the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle into Denver.

The suspect vehicle crashed into a two-occupant vehicle near I-70 and I-225. The suspect and one occupant were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Denver Police is assisting with the crash investigation. The purpose of this release is to provide accurate, timely information to the community based on the current information. This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be provided when available.
