WESTMINSTER, Colo — On April 9, WPD officers responded to a parking lot near 88th Ave and Sheridan Blvd for a single-vehicle crash. Witnesses advised the driver had hit a light pole and then left the scene of the crash on foot. The vehicle was later confirmed to be stolen.

Officers located the suspect shortly after near 88th Ave and Pierce St. He was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl pills. The 31-year-old was arrested and booked on the following charges:
- Motor Vehicle Theft
- Careless Driving
- Failed to Remain at Scene
- Failed to Notify Police of an Accident
- Drove Vehicle While License Under Restraint
- Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
It should be noted all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
During the arrest, officers found the suspect to be in possession of methamphetamine.
