WESTMINSTER, Colo -- WPD officers responded to reports of two suspects prowling neighborhoods and checking car doors. Thanks to our skilled drone operators, a drone equipped with FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) was quickly deployed. From above, officers were able to spot the suspects jumping fences and running through backyards. A perimeter was quickly established, leading to the arrest of both individuals. The suspects now face multiple charges, including burglary and motor vehicle theft.

The video ends with the FLIR being deactivated, showcasing just how invaluable this technology is in catching those who try to victimize our community. We want to emphasize that these drones are used strictly for public safety purposes and in compliance with privacy laws. They are deployed only in response to criminal activity, ensuring that personal privacy remains protected.

It should be noted all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
