WPD SWAT assists in Omaha homicide suspect capture

WESTMINSTER, Colo -- The U.S. Marshals Service Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) located and arrested an Omaha homicide suspect shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 in Westminster. COVOTF investigators requested assistance from the Westminster Police Department's (WPD) SWAT team in contacting the suspect, Dak Lam, of Omaha, Nebraska, located in a residence near W 136th Ave and Huron St. WPD SWAT executed the search warrant at the residence and took Lam into custody. WPD transported Lam to the Adams County Jail where he was booked on an outstanding homicide warrant from Nebraska. He is currently awaiting extradition.
 
We are grateful for the strong partnerships between the law enforcement agencies that keep our community safe including the United States Marshals Service, Omaha Police Department, Lakewood Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Boulder Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
 
It should be noted that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
