WESTMINSTER, Colo -- Early this morning, Westminster police officers attempted to pull over a suspected DUI driver near 93rd Ave and Sheridan Blvd. The driver was observed weaving in and out of traffic lanes and driving at inconsistent speeds. After eluding officers, the vehicle was observed entering US 36 eastbound near Church Ranch Blvd. A short pursuit was initiated and ended on I-25, just south of US 36 when the vehicle came to a stop. Because of the successful deployment of stop sticks, the suspect was eventually driving on three rims at slow speeds. Officers took the 64-year-old driver into custody and booked him into Jefferson County jail for several charges including vehicular eluding and driving under the influence.
It should be noted that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
