WESTMINSTER, Colo -- Officer Wright retired from the Westminster Police Department on Jan. 12, 2025 after 31 years of service. Officer Wright started at WPD in 1993, but his career in law enforcement began in 1991 as an officer for the Wheat Ridge Police Department. During his career with Westminster, he has served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Detective and Court Marshall.

In his retirement announcement, Officer Wright shared: “I am proud to have served the city and citizens of Westminster, alongside some of the finest Police Officers, Command Staff, and Support Staff in their professions. I will truly miss the people. The camaraderie that comes with this job is amazing and it has been essential to my success as well as my well-being in the last 31 years. Thank you for the opportunity to serve in an honorable, essential profession."

Though Officer Wright is retiring from his full-time role, he is not stepping away from serving entirely. He has accepted a part-time position as a Court Security Officer. Please join us in celebrating Officer Wright’s incredible career and his unwavering dedication to our community.
